Jazz Jam at the Iron Post

to Support the  Soybean Press,

Wednesday, July 18, 5-7pm





Help sow the seeds of fine press printing at The University of Illinois 
just by listening to some cool jazz at The Iron Post.

The Soybean Press is a new initiative on campus.  Our goal is to expand 
awareness and knowledge of traditional printing techniques. A 
cooperative effort by The Rare Book & Manuscript Library, The University 
of Illinois Press, Facilities & Services Printing Department, and the 
School of Art & Design, The Soybean Press is already producing beautiful 
specimens of printing and teaching students, faculty, and local 
community members more about the art of fine press printing.  But we 
need support!

Ken Smith, Jazz Guitarist (and master printer) and Identity Crisis, a 
jazz ensemble with some fairly bookish members, will play at the Iron 
Post on Wednesday, July 18 from 5-7pm during Happy Hour.  Donation 
“cover” at the door is $5 and all proceeds go to The Soybean Press 
initiatives.
