The Damon Short Quintet makes its annual pilgrimage to Champaign...

This Chicago-based group performs at Zorba's on Thursday, March 1st, at 
9:30 pm

Featuring Chuck Burdelik and Mitch Paliga on reeds, Ryan Shultz, bass
trumpet, and bassist Larry Kohut, the Quintet plays a wide variety of
material composed by the leader, drummer Damon Short.

Short has several CDs on the Nine Winds, Southport and Depth Perception
labels. These have received 'rave' reviews through the years in 
Downbeat, Cadence and Modern Drummer. CDs will be available at the gig, 
along with a brand-new limited-edition CD culled from live performances 
by the current personnel.
