Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the Trio's music through
our adventures in fusion throughout 2006. We have some exciting plans
for 2007, including a new singer, motion-tracking based musical
exploration, heavier grooves, bigger parties, and some national touring
to top it off!
Thursday at Zorba's was packed from front to back for three solid hours,
with a head-count of 118 people. By the end of the show, everyone was
dancing, screaming, rocking, and having an awesome time. Check out
www.gregspero.com for some streaming audio of the show.
With three more Champaign/Urbana shows in February, there's still time
to catch the trio this month. Along with opening for
internationally-renowned hip-hop group, Hadag Nachash, we are playing
two FREE shows at the Canopy Club. That's right - there is NO COVER
WHATSOEVER. All we want to do is pack the Canopy Club full of awesome
music lovers and party animals for the last two Tuesdays in February and
throw some killer shows.
At one of these three shows, we will also be premiering a new
motion-tracking instrument we have been developing.
*Upcoming shows:*
Wednesday, 2/14 @ Canopy Club
- Cancelled. Hadag Nachash's flight was snowed in :(.
*Tuesday, 2/20 @ Canopy Club *(708 S Goodwin, Urbana, IL)
- 9:00pm to 10:50pm (followed by Zmick)
- NO COVER, $2 LONG ISLANDS
- (Check the website for final word on this, as the Hadag Nachash show
may be pushed to this date)
*Tuesday, 2/27 @ Canopy Club*
- 11:00pm - 11:50pm (followed by Zmick)
- NO COVER, $2 LONG ISLANDS
Because of recent events involving the Environmental Encroachment
Marching Band, I promise to buy a drink for anyone who shows up to any
of our shows in a bunny costume.
So, come to dance, come to rock, come to groove, come to socialize, come
to listen, or just come to see people show up in bunny outfits.
Peace,
Greg Spero

PPPS: Here's the bio for Zmick: "Zmick is a progressive rock band based
out of Chicago/Urbana. The band focuses on creating elaborate
compositions while maintaining a jazz mentality. When performing, Zmick
always plays a variety of musical genres and tackles covers from
multiple eras providing their audiences with an eclectic performance.
Their focus is on the live musical setting and the concept of tension
and release. They are a four piece band composed of Dan Mclean (guitar),
Dan Wonsover (bass), Jack Scheff (keys) and Kris Ahrens
(drums/percussion). Check em out, they would appreciate it." www.zmick.net/
